Car history: |
This car being the first disc brake car was hand built with a budget at the time of $60-65,000 by a six man team lead by John Evans at the St Louis factory. It was GM's pilot car noted by the A on the trim tag and the special attaching rivets. It was shown around the country by GM from August to December of 1964. It was the first Corvette ever to have disc brakes. It was the first American built car of any kind to have four wheel disc brakes. It was the only 1965 Corvette painted at the factory 1964 Cadillac Satin Silver as shown on the trim tag with a paint code of ZZ. It is the first Corvette to have a power antenna and a teak steering wheel. It has received a Bloomington Gold special collection award. |
